TeleStar Laser Solves the Most Difficult Measurement Problems

TeleStar TTL Laser

OGP's TeleStar® through-the-lens laser brings advanced optical technology to bear on the most challenging problems in multisensor measurement. The TeleStar miniaturizes a novel interferometric sensor into a compact, on-board package that is integrated into the TeleStar telecentric zoom lens system. The common optical path of the laser and video sensors means that both laser and video measurements can be made simultaneously, without the need to move the stage, as is required with an offset mounted laser. This arrangement also gives TeleStar a very long working distance, allowing it to penetrate into deep cavities – up to 200 mm – while still maintaining a safe working clearance between the optics and the part surface without compromise to accuracy. TeleStar's incident and reflected beams are coaxial, allowing measurement of narrow places where conventional triangulation lasers can't reach. This also allows the use of mirrors for scanning of internal features, or features on vertical surfaces. The TeleStar can scan a large variety of surfaces, including diffuse "scattering" surfaces typical of polished or machined metal parts. TeleStar laser is available exclusively with the TeleStar zoom lens system offered on SmartScope Quest and Specialist multisensor metrology systems.

Live On-Line Support for MeasureMind 3D

The new MeasureMind 3D version 15 running on Windows 7 now provides live, on-line technical support, diagnostics and demonstrations. With Windows 7, live video images can be viewed in real time via an on-line meeting session, enabling users anywhere in the world to collaborate using MM3D and their desktop computer. Use MM3D on-line to collaborate with users in other facilities, for training or to obtain advanced application support from OGP. Want to see an on-line demonstration? Email us to schedule.

Measure-X 5 Features Advance Productivity

The new Measure-X 5 software release includes a completely new high speed image processing module that speeds video field-of-view measurements up to 70%. Digital image processing enables all datapoints within a snapshot to be processed simultaneously, meaning anything that can be viewed can be measured instantly.

Measure-X 5 includes a raft of other new features to enable easier programming and faster operation. Contact your OGP representative for more information on upgrading your OGP MVP, Flash, or ZIP system to Measure-X version 5. And ask about Measure-X 2D with video option on a Focus Contour Projector.

SmartProfile enabling yield enhancements in orthopedic implant manufacturing

Lowell Inc., a maker of implantable cardiovascular and orthopedic devices has been using OGP multisensor metrology systems with SmartProfile GD&T analysis software in their custom tool making operations for several years. Lowell considers the OGP–SmartProfile combination a key factor in their business success – so much so that they'll be demonstrating an OGP multisensor measurement system with SmartProfile as part of their technology exhibit at the North American Spine Society Show at Chicago's McCormick Place, November 2-5. If you're attending NASS 2011, stop by booth 2832 to see what the OGP–SmartProfile team can do for you.
