Telecentric Optics
Since optical comparators measure projected images, constant image size is essential. With some competitors' cost-cutting optical designs, image size - and measurements - may change as you go in and out of focus. Not so with OGP Contour Projectors. Our quality optics are collimated and telecentric, yielding constant-size images - even when those images are not exactly in focus. We don't just claim telecentricity - we prove it.
High-Quality Lenses
We spec, design, and manufacture all of our own comparator lenses, so we know they are precisely ground, coated, and mounted for optimal image quality, durability, and long operating life. OGP attention to detail guarantees distortion-free, superior lenses.
Large, Bright Images
OGP Contour Projectors project large, bright, uniform images on a flat field screen for reduced operator eyestrain. Screen images are upright and unreversed, reducing visual confusion and boosting productivity. Projected images maintain brightness and clarity right to the edge of the screen, with no intensity falloff.
Internal Lens Turret
OGP Contour Projectors feature internal lens turrets with automatic lens sensing that provides for error-free measurement scaling with every magnification change. The system "knows" which magnification you are using. The internal turret keeps lenses protected from dirt, grime, and scratches. And since you don't handle the lenses, you don't risk dropping one.
Advanced Ergonomics
Our Contour Projectors are designed for continuous use, so we make sure system ergonomics are excellent. Controls are in natural positions, easily at hand for fatigue-free operation. The bright screen and digital readout displays are located conveniently at eye level, making it easy to scan back and forth between them. And the in-line design of the worktable makes it easy to load and unload parts and fixtures.
Integrated Geometric Measuring Processor
Every OGP Contour Projector comes standard with an integral Geometric Measuring Processor, with easy-to-read dual LCD displays and a shop-hardened keypad. Its built-in tools make it easy to measure angle, radius, diameter, width, intersection, included angle, distance, roundness, and straightness. With OGP Contour Projectors, the DRO and multi-function processor are built into the machine itself - not bolted on as an afterthought.
Rock-Solid Construction
Some bargain-priced comparators are made of flimsy sheet metal and plastic. Not ours. OGP comparators feature rigid all-steel cabinets, rugged bearings, massive cast worktable supports, industrialized controls, and nickel-plated worktables with load capacities for measuring real parts. OGP Contour Projectors are built to last.
Internal Edge Detection
OGP's optional Projectron™ edge detection is built-in - not stuck on top of the screen like a windshield wiper. Since it is internal, it can't get in the way or obstruct your view of the screen. And you can't bump it or knock it out of alignment, so it always maintains accuracy and ensures repeatability.
CNC Operation
On motorized OGP Contour Projectors, DC servo variable-speed motor drives with joystick control deliver smooth, quiet, fast worktable motion, and allow for automatic measurements under CNC operation. And you can save more time by automating your Contour Projector with optional software packages like eChek™ metrology software and GageFit® contour analysis software.
